Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the ceremonial session dedicated to State Protection Service formation day.
The Prime Minister congratulated the State Protection Service employees on the occasion of the day and expressed gratitude for the services provided and being provided to the Republic of Armenia. Nikol Pashinyan noted that the development of the State Protection Service is visible, starting from everyday service uniforms, weapons, and equipment.
The Prime Minister also touched upon the financing of the service and emphasized that it has significantly increased. “A very significant investment is being made in improving the qualifications of service employees. We are doing everything possible to ensure that the employees themselves are interested in these changes, in the continuity of education, knowledge of languages, and the continuous development of professional qualities.”
In this context, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the expansion of the scope of international cooperation, which allows for greater accessibility and communication.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of ensuring an appropriate level of social guarantees for employees of the State Protection Service. “The tool should be voluntary certification, and each round of voluntary certification should bring with it a higher level of social guarantees. This should be continuous.”
The Prime Minister also emphasized the need for institutional development of the State Protection Service, because it is one of the most important special services of the state. “Previously, this perception was not present so much, because the service was part of the National Security Service and independent capacity development was not considered particularly necessary. I think that now is the stage when the service must also develop independently, as a special service, with all the questions and answers arising from this, and this also implies certain structural changes.”
Nikol Pashinyan noted with satisfaction the fact of making the service attractive to young people, which should be continuously developed.
The Head of the State Protection Service, Artur Gasparyan, also made a speech, touching upon the work and programs aimed at consistently improving the actions of the service.
A group of employees of the State Protection Service were awarded by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for their dedication in performing their official duties.
