A consultation was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the results of the study of the wheat value chain and the opportunities for promoting wheat production were discussed.

Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan presented details on the analysis of wheat production and import volumes, self-sufficiency level, wheat yield indicators, touched upon the main problems of production, assessment of wheat quality and storage. After presenting the results of the analysis and the problems recorded, the Minister of Economy made recommendations aimed at resolving the issues raised.

During the discussion, the importance of introducing effective mechanisms aimed at improving the wheat value chain and taking steps in accordance with the current developments and latest trends in the sector was emphasized. The need to adopt a strategy for intensive wheat cultivation was also emphasized.

Stressing the importance of promoting wheat production, Prime Minister Pashinyan instructed those responsible to map unused agricultural lands suitable for wheat cultivation, develop a draft investment program, and submit it for discussion.
