A consultation was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the possibility of introducing mechanisms for making donations to civil society organizations (CSOs), mass media and parties through a universal declaration system was discussed.
In particular, it is proposed to introduce a new system of social allocations or expenses to CSOs, media and parties by launching an income declaration system for individuals. It was presented that the introduction of the new system is expected to create new incentives for submitting declarations, promote the financial independence of CSOs and media, and increase the accountability and transparency of the activities of CSOs and media.
The importance of developing political institutional mechanisms through the introduction of the new system was emphasized.
Summing up the discussions, the Prime Minister emphasized that the goal of introducing the system is to enable citizens to support their preferred public, media or political organizations, as well as to ensure transparency in funding. Nikol Pashinyan instructed to finalize the draft based on the observations presented during the discussion.
