Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan introduced newly appointed Minister Davit Tadevosyan to the staff of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.

The Prime Minister thanked Mkhitar Hayrapetyan for his work as Minister of High-Tech Industry and noted that the technology sector has been on development path in Armenia for a long time. “But I must also say that the developments of the last year are especially significant for Armenia, because we now have the opportunity to deal with the latest technologies and artificial intelligence more and more fully. Of course, a lot of work has been done, Armenia now has an infrastructure that might have seemed hard to implement just a few years ago,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister pointed out the Yerevan State University Supercomputer Center, the “Eleveight AI” artificial intelligence factory, and the artificial intelligence factory to be launched by the Firebird company the coming days. According to Nikol Pashinyan, keeping up with technology is one of the most important tasks of the Government. “But in this regard, we must also be attentive and aware of the global debates that are taking place regarding technology, with the logic that we must do everything so that the introduction of technology does not reduce people’s ability to work and earn, but on the contrary, makes it as easy and efficient as possible,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the Government has a fairly busy agenda in the field of technology. “Of course, there are very serious and long-term issues here that require management, planning, and decision-making, but this is an upcoming working agenda that we will address in the context of discussing and adopting the draft Government Program,” Nikol Pashinyan said.

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan thanked the Prime Minister for entrusting him with the position of Minister of High-Tech Industry and added that he perceived it as a unique opportunity to serve the state. The former minister expressed confidence that Davit Tadevosyan will succeed in the position of minister, taking into account his knowledge and experience, and expressed his support in this matter.

In his turn, the newly appointed Minister Davit Tadevosyan thanked the Prime Minister for the trust and opportunity. “I assume this position, fully realizing that everything has a beginning and an end. I will try to make maximum efforts to leave this position to the next minister with pride and a sense of a job well done,” the minister said.
