Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov in the city of Cholpon-Ata.
Sadyr Japarov welcomed Nikol Pashinyan and congratulated him on the successful holding of the parliamentary elections and his appointment to the post of Prime Minister. “I wish you success in implementing the tasks aimed at the further development of the country and increasing the well-being of the Armenian people. Under your leadership, Armenia has achieved significant results in recent years in the areas of socio-economic development and implementation of important reforms, as well as consistently increasing its role in the international arena,” said the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Sadyr Japarov emphasized the efforts of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia to create an atmosphere of friendship and good neighborliness in the South Caucasus and expressed his conviction that ensuring peace and stability is an important condition for sustainable growth and increasing the well-being of the people. "In this context, Kyrgyzstan attaches importance to the further development of Kyrgyz-Armenian relations based on traditional friendship, mutual respect and common values of our countries. Our interaction is characterized by constructive political dialogue and the desire to expand cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. I expect that today's meeting will give a new impetus to Kyrgyz-Armenian friendship and will provide an opportunity to outline promising steps for the further development of partnership between the two countries," the President of Kyrgyzstan noted.
Nikol Pashinyan thanked for the warm hospitality and congratulated Sadyr Japarov on the election of Kyrgyzstan as a (non-permanent) member of the UN Security Council. “I hope that in this format we will be able to deepen our relations and cooperation. I also congratulate you on the successes that are already visible to the naked eye. It is truly very impressive,” the Prime Minister of Armenia said.
Touching upon the high economic growth recorded in Kyrgyzstan, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that this will contribute to raising the standard of living in the country, which is the success of the Kyrgyz government and personally Sadyr Japarov.
“And, of course, this creates new opportunities for economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. Unfortunately, although both our countries are members of the Eurasian Economic Union, due to logistical problems, the volume of our mutual trade is not very large, but some progress has been observed recently. I am confident that we will succeed in developing cooperation in the transport sector. This will contribute to the expansion of mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and Armenia," Prime Minister Pashinyan noted.
