Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with students of the Rescue Service and Crisis Management Educational Unit of the Educational Complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Government House.

Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan also participated in the meeting.

Nikol Pashinyan welcomed those present and congratulated them on the occasion of the holiday ahead of Rescuer's Day.

Issues related to the prevention of emergency situations, elimination of consequences, and ensuring civil protection were discussed during the meeting. Reference was made to steps aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the rescuer's work, as well as the government's policy in this direction.

In the context of the changes taking place in the education sector, the Prime Minister emphasized that there is also a need for policy changes in the rescue service sector, starting from social guarantees to the introduction of certefication system, which in turn will lead to an increase in salaries, the attractiveness of the rescuer's work, and motivate students. "That is what will make the student more motivated, to know that this is a job that will provide for him in life, and if he is a good professional, it will provide career advancement, but also a certain social security for him and his family," said the Prime Minister.

Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the reforms expected at the educational complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which will be aimed at the development of professional education: “A person who has decided that he will be professionally engaged in this work all his life should study there. First, we will narrow his specialization further, that is, he will be more professional in his work. And the state will also sign an agreement with a person that if you receive this education, of course, with social guarantee systems, we agree that you see your working career in this system.”

In the context of introducing mechanisms aimed at making services and professional education more qualitative, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized: “I want to assure our dear students that we are doing everything and will do everything to ensure that the work of a rescuer, the work of a police officer is such that a person has the opportunity to make a decision for himself, to say: this is my life path, I plan to engage in this all my life, because it will give me a career, it will give me social guarantee, it will give me respect in society.”
