A meeting took place between the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

The interlocutors addressed the process of normalizing Armenia- Türkiye relations and the implementation of agreements reached thus far.

Emphasis was placed on the importance of advancing the normalization process and the readiness to give fresh impetus to the relationship. In this regard, the parties deemed it necessary to consistently carry out work aimed at boosting trade and economic ties, establishing connections between business communities, and jointly restoring the historic Ani Bridge.

The sides also exchanged views on regional issues. Nikol Pashinyan and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing confidence that it will have a significant impact on the development of regional cooperation. In this context, the necessity of implementing the TRIPP project and unblocking regional transport links was highlighted.
