Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of hosting the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) in Armenia this October. The Prime Minister noted that the Government of Armenia is working consistently to ensure the conference is organized in the best possible manner and highlighted the importance of high-level participation by international partners.

António Guterres expressed confidence that, through joint efforts, the conference will be successfully held.

The Prime Minister of Armenia and the UN Secretary-General exchanged views on consolidating the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, fostering regional cooperation, and other issues of mutual interest.
