A consultation was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which issues and proposals concerning the re-evaluation of taxation systems were discussed.

Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan emphasized that the programmatic objectives for re-evaluating taxation systems serve as the cornerstones of the Government’s fiscal policy. The core aim is to ensure a fair and equitable distribution of the tax burden, as well as to promote formal documentation and transparency within the economy. According to Vahe Hovhannisyan, the conceptual framework for these changes is geared toward establishing an effective balance among taxation systems. In this context, it was emphasized that the proposed changes aim to foster the development of small businesses by reducing the administrative burden, ensuring tax fairness, and establishing a level playing field.

The meeting included a discussion on issues related to taxation systems and transaction structures, the strategic objectives for rethinking these taxation systems, and the introduction of clear criteria for tax compliance and the assessment of interdependencies.

Prime Minister Pashinyan underscored the importance of implementing a revenue policy geared toward sustainable economic growth and enhancing the efficiency of tax administration, instructing that work in these areas be pursued in a consistent and sustained manner.
