Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, together with President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Garegin II and National Assembly Speaker Ara Babloyan attended a reception, organized for representatives of the state administration system on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas holidays.

In his speech, Nikol Pashinyan, stated in part:
“Honorable President of the Republic of Armenia,
Your Holiness
Distinguished Chairman of the National Assembly,
Dear Government Members,
Dear representatives of the public administration system,

The main question that arises at the turn of 2018-2019 is the following: can we implement what we are talking about. There is, of course, one answer to this question, and it is positive, but at the same time there are some conditions. Yes, we can, if we believe in our own power, but in order to believe in our own strength, we must believe in our mission. Our government is a government with a mission, and it must fulfill its mission, because it is based on our people’s faith and trust in their past and future.

That mission comes from the understanding that the people who have passed through millennia of misfortunes cannot be defeated, because if we were the people who were to be defeated, then this defeat would have happened a long time ago. Therefore, the Armenian people are victorious, and the Armenian people proved it in 2018.

We must understand that all the problems and tasks that confront us are formulated by our people. All of them are solvable, and we must solve these problems, realizing that the solution to these problems is our mind and heart. If we can follow this formula, we will definitely solve all our problems.

And the last eight months have proved that we have enough will, enough strength, enough popular support and enough consistency to solve these problems.

I want to thank all those present for the work done during this time and I want to congratulate all of us on working together. Of course, I cannot say that we managed to accomplish everything that we would like to accomplish, but also I cannot help noting that during this time we did the most important thing - we proved that we can solve the problems we face, no matter who and how likely it seems.

Congratulations to us all on the occasion of 2018 and 2019 years. I am sure that 2019 will be the year of victories just as it was in 2018, but these victories should be greater, much more complex and more strategic. Happy New Year to you and your families, congratulations to the staff of all departments and I wish you every success in your work and personal life. Thank you.”
