Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in the regular session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Moscow. First, the session of the Intergovernmental Council was held in a narrow format, then in an expanded format.
In addition to the heads of governments of the EAEU member states, the expanded session was also attended by Abdulla Aripov, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, an observer country in the EAEU.
Prime Minister Pashinyan made a speech at the expanded session, which specifically stated:
“Dear members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council,
Dear participants of the meeting,
I am pleased to welcome you to this year’s final session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, for his hospitality and the excellent organization of today's session.
I would also like to thank the chairing Belarusian side for the work done and wish the Republic of Kazakhstan a successful chairmanship next year.
Dear colleagues,
The Republic of Armenia attaches importance to the expansion of the geography of the EAEU's foreign economic relations, considering it as a key factor in further strengthening the organization's role in the global economy.
The conclusion of new free trade agreements not only activates the dialogue, but also contributes to increasing the competitiveness of the EAEU, opening up new opportunities for economic growth for our countries.
Another important component of economic cooperation is the transport and logistics sector.
Diversification of transport infrastructure can be an additional incentive for the growth of trade turnover. In this context, I would like to note that the positive changes taking place in the region open up new opportunities for deepening economic cooperation, and the unblocking of regional communications can become an important factor in expanding regional ties and strengthening the economic stability of all countries in the region.
In this regard, I would like to welcome the decision of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to unblock the transit of goods sent to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan.
This is one of the important achievements made within the framework of establishing peace and stability in our region.
Dear participants of the meeting,
The formation of common energy markets is an important prerequisite for ensuring equal and predictable conditions for all EAEU member states.
It is necessary to consistently move towards the creation of fully functional common markets that ensure effective interaction, transparency and balance of interests of all parties.
At the same time, it is of particular importance for the EAEU member states to prioritize domestic supply over exports to third countries and to develop common approaches for implementing this principle.
In conditions of high volatility of global food markets, the stability of the agricultural systems of the EAEU countries is of particular importance for ensuring economic stability.
Achieving concrete results directly depends on the implementation of agreed practical measures, including the systematic introduction of innovations, digital transformation, as well as the creation and development of effective financial support mechanisms for joint industrial and agro-industrial cooperative projects.
In the context of implementing the roadmap for creating favorable conditions for the development of e-commerce in the EAEU, we believe that it is appropriate to focus in the future stages on the consistent introduction of digital solutions, ensuring the compatibility of technological approaches used by member states. This will contribute to the simplification of e-commerce processes and the sustainable development of the digital environment.
Within the framework of digitalization, we attach importance to the implementation of various initiatives, including those promoting the digital transformation of the customs and transport sectors.
At the same time, in the field of cybersecurity, priority should be given to the creation of joint information protection mechanisms, increasing the resilience of critical infrastructures, and developing standards and methodologies for responding to cyber threats.
Such a comprehensive approach will contribute to building trust, increasing the security of the digital environment, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of processes.
In conclusion, let me once again confirm the readiness of the Republic of Armenia for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Thank you for your attention.”
The heads of government then signed the minutes of the adopted decisions.
