Dear people, dear citizens of the Republic of Armenia,

Today is the Day of Remembrance and Reverence to those who died in the defense of the Fatherland. It was established by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on the eve of the holiday of the army of our country, and citizens have already begun to call January 27 the Day of the Heavenly Army.

There is great love in this popular formulation, in our reality there is great love for the martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of the Fatherland, and great responsibility. Each fallen soldier becomes a member of the family of each of us, and this is due to the obvious awareness that he died for us, for the sake of each of us.

Remembering those who died for the sake of the Fatherland and bowing before them is our duty, this is the reason why a state day of remembrance has been established. But from this day on, our responsibility does not decrease, but on the contrary, the responsibility increases to ensure that the sacrifices of our martyrs are not in vain.

After the disasters that have befallen us, every day, every single day, the Government and the parliamentary majority have made an effort to find an answer to a very important question: what should be done, how should we do it so that the sacrifices of our martyrs are life-giving and not destructive.

A clear and unequivocal answer has been given to this question: our martyrs fell so that the Republic of Armenia could rise. And, consequently, the state - a developed, strong, secure, prosperous and happy Republic of Armenia - is the most significant monument perpetuating the memory of our martyrs and giving life to their descendants.

And today we are focused on this very issue: the perpetuation of the Republic of Armenia, the strengthening of our statehood and its institutions, making the state a working instrument for the security and well-being of citizens, strengthening the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of our country's borders, the continuous development of the earthly army are the tasks that will enable us to look to the sky, to our heavenly army, and receive a smile in response.

My dear brothers and sisters, you have not fallen in vain, your sacrifice has created a new consciousness, your sacrifice has opened our eyes, clarified our minds, strengthened our will to strengthen our state, to build a state-centered path, which is a path to prosperity, security, happiness, and peace for the Republic of Armenia and its citizens.

Through tears, we smile at you and bow to your relatives. And we kneel before you.
