Today, the regular Cabinet meeting took place, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

The Government approved the legislative initiative of the Government of the Republic of Armenia on the bill on amendments and additions to the law "On Police Service". The decision proposes to lift the age limit for entering the police service.

The Prime Minister noted: "I want to express my satisfaction that we have reached this point where we say that age is not essential for entering the police." Nikol Pashinyan also emphasized the importance of having a system for objectively assessing a person's functionality and in this context proposed to apply the same logic in the army.

The Government adopted a decision, which is conditioned by the need to provide the population with supplies of high-quality and safe meat and to provide partial compensation for slaughterhouses for slaughter service fees in order to encourage slaughterhouse slaughter. From the 1st day of the month following the date of entry into force of the decision until December 30, 2025, the state shall provide the slaughterhouse with partial compensation for the service fee for the slaughter service provided to the farm.

By government decision, on May 25-26, 2024, in the Lori region of the Republic of Armenia, in order to eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation caused by floods due to heavy rains, a list of urgent anti-flood measures was approved for the purpose of cleaning the problematic sections of the Debed, Pambak, Dzoraget, Shnogh and Tashir rivers, as well as for managing the risks of possible floods in 2025. It was decided to carry out the works without obtaining design and estimate documents, and to accept the works in accordance with the actual volumes implemented.

The Government approved the legislative initiative of the Government of the Republic of Armenia regarding the bill of the Republic of Armenia on the ratification of the "Agreement on the Establishment of an International Transport and Transit Corridor between the Governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan" and the Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the "Agreement on the Establishment of an International Transport and Transit Corridor between the Governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan" (Ashgabat Agreement), which is an integral part of it.

The Government also approved the legislative initiative of the Government of the Republic of Armenia regarding the bill of the Republic of Armenia "On ratification of the Convention between the Republic of Armenia and Japan for the avoidance of double taxation on income and the prevention of tax evasion", signed in Yerevan on December 26, 2024.
