The Government allocates more than 33 billion drams from the state budget for subsidy programs in 2025

Today, the regular Cabinet meeting took place, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

The decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia provides for the co-financing of a number of subsidy programs for 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 in the amount of 12,045,690.6 thousand drams. As noted by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, the decision proposes to co-finance 169 subsidy programs in 52 communities. According to the Minister, as a result of this co-financing, a total of 33 billion 635 million drams will be co-financed from the state budget in 2025, which is more by 200 percent compared to the budget at the beginning of the year, and more by 2 billion drams compared to the previous year. Nikol Pashinyan listed the works implemented and ongoing under subvention programs in various communities: major renovation of the water supply network, reconstruction of a kindergarten, asphalting of the courtyards of apartment buildings, construction of walkways, construction of a lighting system, etc.

After presenting the extensive list, the Prime Minister noted that this year alone, $150 million has been invested in communities through subvention programs and state budget funds.

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure reported that 55 billion drams were allocated from the state budget for road construction, ordered by the Road Department, another 2 billion drams for urgent programs and 2 billion drams for the participatory budgeting program were allocated from the state budget.

329,855.0 thousand drams were allocated from the government reserve fund for the acquisition of land plots necessary for the construction of a football stadium in accordance with UEFA standards in the administrative territory of the Getahovit settlement of the Ijevan community of Tavush region. As noted by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, this state allocation is a significant investment aimed at providing new opportunities for public infrastructure and economic activity in the regions.

The government adopted a decision “On the consolidation of real estate”. Accordingly, 7 properties with a cadastral value of 2 billion 319 million drams, equivalent to 6 million US dollars, were consolidated with the State Property Management Committee.
Regarding the decision, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan noted that all properties were returned to the Republic of Armenia as a result of the satisfaction of the claims submitted by the Prosecutor’s Office within the framework of the authority to protect state interests.

The Prosecutor General also referred to another resolution adopted in an unreported package, according to which it is planned to register the real estate located at 8Z. Andranik Street 8, Vanadzor, Lori region community, which is the property of the “Hayastan” sports public organization, as state property and include it in the balance of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

The government’s decision envisages allocating 175,360 thousand drams to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports for the purchase and transportation of an exclusive Armenian cultural asset, a carved wooden door leaf made in 1188, which is being sold at an international auction in London.

Referring to the decision, Nikol Pashinyan recalled that two exclusive Bibles were acquired for the Matenadaran. “In such cases, we are first of all guided by the advice of specialists. When specialists say that it is an exclusive specimen, of course, all the necessary examinations are followed. I think it is a very important process, and the return of our cultural assets to the Republic of Armenia is being done again thanks to the state budget, that is, thanks to citizens who work in the Republic of Armenia, pay taxes prescribed by law, and do not forget to issue or demand a cash register.”
