Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with schoolchildren and physical education teachers participating in the final stage of the "Prime Minister's Cup" amateur road cycling tournament at the "Arevik" recreation area in Sevan, conversing with them around a campfire.

Welcoming the participants, the Prime Minister congratulated them on successfully passing the regional qualifying rounds and reaching the final stage. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that holding the "Prime Minister's Cup" amateur tournament across various sports contributes to promoting a healthy lifestyle within society.

The tournament aims to foster the spread of cycling and an active lifestyle among schoolchildren. The final stage of the tournament, scheduled for September 11–12, will feature teams from Armenia’s ten regions and Yerevan that achieved the best results in the regional and city qualifying rounds. The final race will take place along the 40-kilometer route stretching from the Sevan Peninsula to the settlement of Shoghakat. In keeping with tradition, a camp and a campfire gathering will be organized for the participants on September 11—the day before the competition—while the final cycling race will be held on September 12. This year, the tournament is taking place concurrently with the "Tour of Armenia," an international professional multi-stage cycling race.

The tournament is held in two age groups: students in grades 7–9 and grades 10–12. School teams that secured first place in their respective age groups during the regional and Yerevan city stages have qualified for the finals. Consequently, 22 teams comprising a total of 66 participants will compete in the final stage. The school teams, students, and physical education teachers who take the top three places in the tournament's two age groups will be awarded trophies, medals, certificates, and cash prizes.
