Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is in the US on a working visit, visited the Museum of the Bible in Washington.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by the museum’s CEO Aaron Ross, toured the museum and got acquainted with the exhibits. The museum also featured exhibits of Armenian Christian heritage, as well as the ancient Armenian Bible.

Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that he is impressed by the exhibits presented at the museum and presented the museum with a copy of Grigory of Narek's medieval Book of Lamentations.

It is one of the oldest copies of Grigor Narekatsi’s world-renowned prayer book “The Book of Lamentations.” The original was written in 1173 in Cilicia by the prominent scribe and painter Grigor Skevratsi, at the behest of the distinguished Armenian theologian Nerses Lambronatsi. The manuscript is preserved in the Matenadaran as one of the exceptional masterpieces of Armenian written and miniature art.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement at the trilateral meeting with Donald Trump and Ilham Aliyev

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made a statement at the trilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the White House.

In his speech, the Prime Minister noted:

''Thank you, Mr. President,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Today, we have reached a significant milestone in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. We are laying a foundation to write a better story than the one we inherited from the past. This breakthrough would simply not have been possible without President Trump’s personal engagement and his resolute commitment to peace in our region.

The initialing of the peace treaty will pave the way to end the decades of conflict between our countries and open a new era based on the full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other.

Today’s signed declaration, which President Trump personally signed and witnessed, gives confidence and assurance that we are opening a chapter of peace, prosperity, security and economic cooperation in the South Caucasus. In this context, allow me to highlight the agreement on opening transport communications in the region based on the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and jurisdiction. I am particularly thrilled that together with the US, Armenia will work to bring to life the TRIPP - Trump Road for International Peace and Prosperity - a connectivity project that will unlock the entire region. TRIPP will unlock strategic economic opportunities that will create long-term benefits. It will promote infrastructure investment, enhance regional connectivity, and strengthen U.S. leadership as a champion of conflict resolution.

I want to thank President Trump and his team for brokering this game-changing outcome between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This is a great deal we’ve achieved today. This is a win for our countries and the region. And a win for the world, because a more peaceful region means a safer world. This is peace through strength in a nutshell.

Mr. President,

Today’s great achievement is yet another testimony to your global leadership and your legacy as a statesman and a peacemaker on the world stage. Bringing peace requires vision, political courage and determination. But what is most important is that it requires faith in the cause. As it is said in the Holy Bible, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God”. May God enlighten this way.

Thank you.

And I congratulate all of us, President Aliyev, you, our colleagues from Azerbaijan, from Armenia, from the United States, all the peoples of our region, the peoples of our countries, I congratulate the world, because as I said, as a result of this, the world will definitely become better."
